Idaho paycheck calculator 2026
Idaho charges a flat 5.3% on taxable income above $2,500 for a single filer ($5,000 joint), after the federal standard deduction. Its 2026 figures are only partly checked: the Idaho tax here is worked out as it would be on the return, and the July 2026 withholding tables are not applied. That gives about $2,194 on a $60,000 single salary.

- For Idaho, the 2026 withholding tables were not read, so the tax is worked out as on the return: 5.3 percent over 2,500 (5,000 joint) after the federal standard deduction. A paycheck can differ.

The state withholding method for one job, worked out for the whole year.
What this does not include
- Covers federal income tax, Social Security and Medicare on wages from one job across the whole tax year.
- Works out the tax on the return with the standard deduction. Withholding from a Form W-4 can differ, so a paycheck may show more or less tax.
- Does not include itemized deductions, tax credits such as the child tax credit, or income other than wages.
- The tips, overtime and age 65 deductions need a joint return when married, and only qualified amounts count. For overtime only the extra half of time and a half counts.
- Treats an HSA contribution as paid through payroll, so up to the family limit it lowers Social Security and Medicare too. Any amount over the limit is taxed as wages. California and New Jersey tax HSA contributions, so there the HSA does not lower state income tax.
- Other pre tax deductions come off income tax wages only. A cafeteria plan can also take premiums off Social Security and Medicare wages, and that is not modeled.
- Additional Medicare Tax uses the threshold of your filing status. An employer withholds it only on wages over $200,000, so the tax on the return can differ.
- Does not include the extra standard deduction for blindness, the car loan interest deduction, or federal unemployment tax paid by the employer.
- State income tax follows the 2026 withholding method of your state for one job and no dependents, mostly with one allowance for you and one for a spouse on a joint return. The tax on your state return can differ.
- New York and Oregon withholding is worked out with zero allowances, and Minnesota with the allowances its W-4MN worksheet gives one job: two single, three married or head of household.
- State tax starts from the same wages as federal income tax, after pre tax deductions. Pennsylvania taxes 401(k) contributions, and that is not modeled.
- In New York one rate applies to all net wages from $1,077,550 single ($2,155,350 married), so state tax jumps there.
- Alabama lowers its standard deduction by a fixed amount for each $500 of pay over $25,999, so a small raise can cost a little more than it adds there.
- Arkansas withholding steps up by about $20 at $94,700 of net taxable income.
- Oregon lowers the federal tax it lets you subtract in steps from $125,000 of pay ($250,000 married), so state tax rises by $150 to $175 at each step.
- Local income taxes are not included, except the New York City and Yonkers taxes for residents.
- Where the 2026 figures of a state are still being checked, the result shows federal and payroll taxes only.
