Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026.
This policy explains what PayCalculus does and does not do with information when you use the site. It is written in plain language. If anything is unclear, email info@paycalculus.com.
The short version
- The documents you make and the numbers you type into the tools are processed inside your browser. They are not sent to our server, and we never see them.
- Document drafts and your business details are kept in this browser's local storage, on your device, until you remove them.
- Analytics is not switched on yet. If it is added, it will run only after you agree wherever the law requires consent, including the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.
- Ads are not switched on yet. When they are, their scripts will wait for your answer to a consent message wherever the law requires one.
- We do not sell personal data.
1. What the tools do with what you type
When you fill in an invoice, add a logo, enter a salary or type a loan amount, the page does all of its work in your browser using JavaScript. The PDF is built on your device. Your logo file is read and resized by your browser and is never uploaded. The names, addresses and figures you type are not transmitted to PayCalculus or to anyone else.
2. What is stored on your device
The document tools save your work as you type, so closing the tab does not lose it. They use your browser's local storage. Local storage is not a cookie: it stays on your device and is not sent with any request. These are the entries the site may create:
- bt.doc.invoice, bt.doc.quote, bt.doc.receipt, bt.doc.payslip and bt.doc.po: the latest draft of each document type.
- bt.profile: your business details and logo, so the next document starts with them filled in.
- bt.counter.invoice, bt.counter.quote, bt.counter.receipt, bt.counter.payslip and bt.counter.po: the last document number used for each type, so the next number goes up by 1.
- bt.transfer: a quote you turn into an invoice. It is held only until the invoice page opens it, then deleted.
- paycalculus-theme: whether you picked the light or the dark theme.
- paycalculus-install-dismissed: the time you chose Not now on the offer to install the site as an app, so the offer stays away for 90 days.
The site also keeps an offline copy of its own files in your browser's cache storage, through a service worker, so pages you have opened since the site was last updated still work without a connection. Each update of the site replaces that copy, and a page is saved again the next time you open it. That copy holds only pages, style sheets, scripts, fonts, icons and the public exchange rates file from paycalculus.com. It never holds what you type into a tool, and a page saved for offline use is stored without the inputs a share link carries. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes it too.
The calculators store nothing. To remove stored data, use "Forget my business details and logo" on any document tool to delete your profile, or "Clear" to empty the current document. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings removes every entry above.
3. Requests the site makes
Every page, style sheet, script, font and icon is loaded from paycalculus.com. When you download a PDF, the PDF library and its font files also come from this site. The currency converter loads a daily exchange rates file from this site. None of these requests contain anything you typed.
No third party script runs on the site today.
The calculators can copy a share link. That link carries your inputs in the page address, so anyone you send it to can see them. Opening the link sends that address to our server like any other page request, where the host's standard logs may record it. The page reads the inputs into the form and does not store them.
4. Analytics
Analytics is not switched on yet. If it is added, it will count visits and show which pages and tools are used, in total rather than per person. Before it starts, this policy will name the service, say whether it sets cookies and explain how to opt out. Where the law requires consent, it will run only after you agree. Analytics will never receive what you type into a tool.
5. Advertising and consent
Ads are not switched on yet, so no advertising script loads and no advertising cookie is set today. When ads are switched on, they will be served by Google AdSense on tool and guide pages only. The home page, the category pages, these policy pages, the contact page and the 404 page will stay free of ads.
Google may use cookies and similar technology to show ads and measure them. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will see a consent message from a Google certified consent platform before any ad script runs, and can choose whether to allow personalized ads. If you decline, ads may still appear, but they will not be based on your browsing history. A link to change your choice will sit in the footer of every page.
Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to this site and to other sites. Google explains this on its page about how it uses information from sites that use its services. You can turn off personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings.
6. Affiliate links
There are no affiliate links on the site today. If some are added, each will carry a visible label. When you follow one, the other company may set a cookie to record that you came from PayCalculus, and we may earn a commission if you sign up. We will not receive personal data about you from those companies.
7. Server logs
The company that hosts PayCalculus keeps standard server logs for security and to diagnose errors. They record the IP address, the page requested, the time and the browser type. They are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify anyone, except where that is needed to investigate abuse of the site.
8. Email
There is no contact form and no newsletter. If you email us, we keep your message and your address for as long as it takes to reply and deal with any follow up. Writing to us does not add you to any mailing list.
9. Children
The site is not aimed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR in the EEA, the UK GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act give you rights over personal data held about you. These include the right to know what is held, to get a copy, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to complain to a data protection authority. California residents may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and PayCalculus does not sell or share it. Because the tools keep your data on your device, the only personal data we normally hold is an email you have sent us. To use any of these rights, write to info@paycalculus.com.
11. Changes
This page will be updated when the site's practices change, for example when ads or analytics are switched on, and the date at the top will change with it. A significant change will be noted on this page for 30 days.
12. Who we are
PayCalculus is run by Atif, based in Lahore, Pakistan. For any privacy question, the address is info@paycalculus.com.
