4 free Pakistan tools, slabs from fbr.gov.pk

Pakistan salary tax, income tax, zakat and car installment calculators

Four calculators for Pakistan, all in rupees. The salary tax and income tax calculators apply the slabs for salaried individuals that the Finance Act 2026 set for the year from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027, which the FBR calls Tax Year 2027, and lead with the monthly figure, because salaries in Pakistan are paid and quoted by the month. The zakat calculator applies 2.5% once assets less debts reach the nisab, and the car installment calculator turns a price and KIBOR plus spread into a monthly installment. Every sum is worked out inside this browser tab.

What changed this year

The Finance Act 2026 lowered the rates in the middle of the salaried table. Income from Rs 2,200,000 to Rs 3,200,000 a year is now taxed at 20% (it was 23%), and income from there up to Rs 4,100,000 at 25% (it was 30%).

Two new slabs follow at 29% up to Rs 5,600,000 and 32% up to Rs 7,000,000. The 35% top rate now starts only above Rs 7,000,000, where in Tax Year 2026 it applied to all income above Rs 4,100,000.

The 9% surcharge that Tax Year 2026 added to the tax of salaried people with taxable income over Rs 10,000,000 is gone for salary income.

Nothing changed lower down. The first Rs 600,000 a year is still tax free, and the 1% and 11% slabs below Rs 2,200,000 are the same, so a salary of up to about Rs 183,000 a month pays the same tax as last year.

The pack is checked against the FBR text of the Income Tax Ordinance after each federal budget, whose changes usually take effect on 1 July. The next review is due by 1 June 2027.

Choosing a tool

Which Pakistan tool answers your question

The two salary calculators read one rates file, so a salary gets the same tax in each. What differs is the figure they put first.

Salary tax calculator. It starts from a monthly salary and opens on the pay that reaches the bank each month. A bonus, a provident fund contribution and a medical allowance can be added, and Compare sets this year beside Tax Year 2026.

Income tax calculator. It starts from the salary for the whole year and splits the tax across the slabs, one row per slab, with the income and the tax in each.

Zakat calculator. It adds gold, silver, savings, business stock and money owed to you, takes off debts due now and applies 2.5% once the total reaches the nisab, priced from silver by default.

Car installment calculator. It turns a car price, a down payment and KIBOR plus the bank's spread into a monthly installment, then adds insurance and the processing fee to show what the car costs in total.

Salary tax guide for 2026-27. It explains the slab table by hand, with take home figures from Rs 50,000 to Rs 500,000 a month and how each changed from last year.

The two salary tools cover a salaried individual: a person whose salary makes up more than three quarters of taxable income.

Figures are in Pakistani rupees (PKR) and cover a full tax year at a steady salary. An employer spreads the tax over the months it pays, so one payslip can differ from the average shown here.

Frequently asked questions

Which tax year do these calculators use?

Tax Year 2027, which the FBR counts from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027 and many people call 2026-27. The slabs are those of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 as amended by the Finance Act 2026. Both calculators can also show Tax Year 2026, the year that ended on 30 June 2026.

Do the calculators work for business or freelance income?

No. They apply the table for salaried individuals, which is for a person whose salary is more than three quarters of taxable income. Business owners, professionals and anyone whose income is mostly not salary are taxed on a different table, which this pack does not include yet.

Is a non filer taxed more on a salary?

The salaried slabs in the First Schedule are one table, with no higher rates for people missing from the Active Taxpayers List, and both calculators use that table. Where filer status matters is withholding on other payments, such as bank profit, dividends, property transfers and vehicle registration, and those are not modeled here.

Why is there no minimum wage or super tax on this page?

The national minimum wage was not found in an FBR text or a federal gazette notification when the rates were checked, so it is left out until an official source confirms it. Super tax on very high incomes is a separate charge under section 4C, and these calculators do not include it.

Where do the key figures on this page come from?

The key figures table is read from the same rates file the calculators use, so the hub and the tools cannot disagree. Each figure in that file was checked against the FBR's consolidated text of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 on 1 November 2026, linked under Sources below.
